The Hospital Bag, Beauty Edition
with Mecca Cosmetica
Now that I am almost five weeks postpartum, (where on earth did that time go!) I thought it would be a great time to look back on my hospital bag and take you through the beauty items I took along, and why I would definitely recommend packing these for any future mumma’s.
This bad boy came in quite handy during my labour with Flynn. During and also in the couple of days following, I actually had a temperature and was running pretty hot. Having a facial mist on hand was a lovely way to quickly cool myself down and also relax a little with the beautiful rose scent. Would definitely recommend having a facial mist on hand.
These are pretty self explanatory, and definitely an essential. Not that I was wearing makeup at all through my labour, but having some good quality facial wipes was a easy way to quickly refresh. Especially since I was recovering from a Spinal Tap and wasn’t able to be up and moving around soon after the labor, having these helped as I could use them from the comfort of my hospital bed.
This was a no-brainer. Even though I tried to stay hydrated during my labour with Flynn, it’s kind of easy to get distracted when your battling through contractions! My lips got super dry and I was glad to have this on hand. The Frank Body lip balm is one of my personal favourites. It’s a thick consistency and feels super hydrating. It’s also not sticky so gets the tick from me.
Now this was my favourite item I took with me in my hospital bag. I use my Deep Sleep Pillow Spray every night at home, (it’s definitely apart of my evening routine) so I knew that having it with me in the hospital would help me to feel more relaxed and at home.
Now first, a disclaimer. I actually didn’t end up using these while in hospital, but they were packed. I was hoping I would feel up to having some newborn shots taken of Flynn and our new little family but due to my recovery it didn’t end up happening. However, I do know that if we had of decided to do a little shoot this CC Cream and Brow Gel combo would have perfect, nothing to heavy but good enough to make me feel slightly human after a couple of nights of zero sleep!
